Beaumont VBS supports food bank

One Beaumont VBS gave kids a week of fun, brought them closer to the Lord, AND supported a local food mission.

Wow!

Congratulations to the children who attended Trinity United Methodist 2013 Beaumont VBS.

They collected over 4700 food items for the “Feed My Sheep Mission”.

The hearts of children are big indeed, and this Beaumont VBS was able to tap intothat and help the kids complete a practical mission. Who knows what additional fruit will be harvested in future years from these kids in whom the seeds of service have been planted?

None of this could have happened without the wonderful volunteers from Trinity United Methodist Beaumont who contributed countless hours preparing for this 20134 Beaumont VBS, one one one with kids during VBS, and cleaning up after VBS was over.

Trinity United Methodist Church Beaumont’s UMW (United Methodist Women) also provided snacks each day for the army of volunteers. How many volunteers? Over 100. That is a congregation coming together.

A big church project, like VBS, really does require a lot of volunteers to make it happen.

The 2013 Trinity United Methodist Beaumont VBS theme was “Kingdom Rock”.

148 children attended this Beaumont VBS.

Congratulations to the church and children for this wonderful success. 4700 food items will definitely make an impact for the “Feed My Sheep” Mission.

food bank big

Most of the 2013 Southeast Texas VBS programs had a missions component.

Some, like Trinity United Methodist Beaumont Beaumont, supported food banks. Wildwood Baptist Church donated military bible sticks. Some support their church’s foreign missions.

What is the mission component of your Southeast Texas VBS? We’d love to hear about it.
