Wildwood Baptist Church Young Adult Sunday School Class Raises $890 for Lottie Moon Christmas Offering

This past weekend was certainly one of the most active of the year for Southeast Texas churches.

Between live nativities, cantatas, children’s Christmas plays, and church sponsored Christmas light show extravaganzas, Southeast Texas Christians had some wonderful fellowship opportunities.

One of the quieter events was the annual Christmas party for the Wildwood Baptist Church young adult Sunday School class held Saturday evening.

The group meets for fellowship oppotunities several times a year.

Their Christmas parties are always a highlight for the group and typically feature:

  • Fellowship Meal (this year was chilli and last year was gumbo)
  • A white elephant style ugly Christmas ornament exchange – and I mean really ugly.
  • An auction whose proceeds 100% support the Lottie Moon Christmas offering.

This year’s auction featured tools, electronics, faith oriented home decor, and some beautiful hand crafted wood burnings crafted by a class member.

The beauty of a live auction is you never know what items will “pop” with bidders.

Bidders went crazy for a Dallas Cowboy mascot hat.

Who knew?

At the end of the night, class members had been able to catch up on each other’s families, holiday plans, shared a great meal, laughed a lot over the ugly ornaments, and raised $890 for their annual Sunday School class Lottie Moon Christmas offering.

God Bless – and Merry Christmas to Southeast Texas Church community and to all of our Southeast Texas Christian readers.
