Join Spindletop Gladys City Boomtown this Saturday for “Great Outdoor Days”.
This special program is designed for Southeast Texas children and families to celebrate the great outdoors.
From 10-2 on Saturday Spindletop Gladys City Boomtown will welcome families for fun, hands on activities both for children and for families to do together.
Your kids will love the activities – and you will enjoy watching them learn while having fun at the same time.
The Gladys City Boomtown staff has been hard at work putting together the activities which will teach them about:
- Water
- Air
- Soil
- Fire
Special focus will be on how these elements interact and coexist in our environment?
If you have never been to the Spindletop Museum, it is really something to see. It commemorates the Spindletop oil discovery and Gladys City, the boom town that was born with the gusher. It has everything from a printing press to historic motor vehicles.
One highlight at these special events – admission is free!
Another highlight, and an impressive one, is that the Spindletop Gusher will blow at 2pm. Thankfully these days it blows water instead of sticky Texas sweet crude. Kids love seeing it – and if they are standing in the right place it will give them a wonderful opportunity to cool off.
