Looking Back: Construction Photos from St. Anne’s Catholich Church in Beaumont

St. Anne’s Church in Beaumont really fits it’s location at 11th Street and Calder in Beaumont.

It has the timeless look of classic Catholic Churches, only the pinkish paint setting it apart.

It fits so well, that it might surprise many Southeast Texas Catholics to know that the church was built in 1937. It’s hard to believe that a church that blends so well in our community was built before World War II and that a building so well appointed was constructed during the Great Depression.

Impressively, St. Anne’s continues the mission of supporting the Southeast Texas community and Southeast Texas Catholics with the energy and vigor of a young church.

Indeed, the young are a key part of St. Anne’s mission with St. Anne’s School. St. Anne’s has educated generations of Southeast Texas children and prepared them to grow into wonderful, well rounded, adults.

Recently photos from St. Anne’s early construction were found by children of a long-time parishoner.

They show the birth of a Southeast Texas Church that has had, and will continue to have, a long life of serving the Southeast Texas community.
