Southeast Texas Soup Kitchens Receive Support from The Giving Field in Beaumont

Are you looking for a fun and educational Southeast Texas home school field trip idea?

For those in need, Southeast Texas soup kitchens nourish the body – and often the spirit.

Like other non-profits, Southeast Texas soup kitchens have been hit hard by government cutbacks and a decline in charitable giving (as people earn less, they also give less).

One wonderful Southeast Texas resource is stepping in to take up the slack.

The Giving Field is a Beaumont urban garden. The garden resides on the campus of St. Anne’s Catholic church, just a brief walk from St. Anne’s Catholic School.

Volunteers plant, tend, and harvest the crops at The Giving Field year round. There is also a chicken coop which provides eggs, a wonderful protein source for Southeast Texas soup kitchens.

The Giving Field supports:

  • Some Other Place Beaumont
  • The Hospitality Center Port Arthur

Their donations of food to these SETX soup kitchens has a number of benefits:

  • They reduce the amount of processed foods needed by the soup kitchens.
  • In many cases, the fresh produce donated by The Giving Field, is the only fresh produce people receive that day.
  • With all of the cutbacks in government funding and charitable giving, The Giving Field has helped SETX Soup kitchens dramatically stretch their budgets.

Support SETX Christian Businesses

One of the reasons they bought the magazine is to give Jessica the freedom to homeschool their two boys.

Daryl also wanted to use his experience with The Discovery Channel, Animal Planet, and Clear Channel radio to help local Southeast Texas businesses market themselves effectively.

Watching an advertiser grow, provides great satisfaction.

After a recent trip their Southeast Texas homeschool group took to The Giving Field, Jessica was moved to sponsor a series of articles on The Giving Field on SetxChurchGuide.com.

She sees The Giving Field as a real life metaphor for the sense of a Southeast Texas Christian community that they work to foster in their businesses.

Each year, The Southeast Texas Kids Directory provides over $30,000 in complimentary advertising to Southeast Texas non-profits, Christian groups, and SETX churches.
