Home Free with Roots in Nederland Church Community WINS NBC’s The Sing Off

Earlier in the year, SetxChurchGuide reported that Home Free would be a contestant on the popular NBC music competition, The Sing Off. Home Free Tim Foust Nederland Church

Tim Foust of Home Free started singing in the Nederland TX Church Community.

He had a number of Southeast Texas Christians rooting for him throughout the Sing Off.

Home Free was an early favorite, never finding itself in the “bottom two”, cruising to the finals on the strength of their “Country Acapella” sound. Their songs included Johnny Cash’s “Ring of Fire” and a mix of classic and contemporary Country hits with the occasional foray into pop.

Tim Foust and Home Free were very strong in every stage of the competition, but they seemed to be having the most fun when able to jam with other groups like the teen heart throbs “Filharmonic”.

SetxChurchGuide joins the Nederland Church community in congratulating Tim Foust and Home Free on their Sing Off Victory.

Foust reports that Home Free is now hard at work on their album which will be released by Sony Records

Look around your Nederland Church this Sunday – is their a future recording star in your youth choir?

Best wishes to Tim Foust and Home Free on their post Sing Off career. In many ways, their journey is just getting started.

If you’d like to hear more from Home Free, keep an eye out for their debut album and then later in the year check out You Tube around the holidays. Contestants from NBC’s “The Sing Off” tend to offer some very strong Christmas releases (check out Pentatonix or Commited winners of Season 3 and Season 2 respectively). The acappela sound and church background of many of The Sing Off’s bands lends itself to Christmas music.
