For many Southeast Texas Christians, when we drive down the road and see a church we wonder, “What is that church all about? What are the services like? I wonder if their worship music is traditional or contemporary?”

SETX Church Guide will be introducing you to different Southeast Texas churches – maybe one will become your Southeast Texas Church.

Today’s spotlight is on Good Samaritan Fellowship in Fred.

Good Samaritan is on Highway 96 just outside Fred TX.

Good Samaritan Fellowship Fred Texas

Good Samaritan Church in Fred is led by Pastors Robert and Tabitha Moore.
They describe the church as: a spirit filled, God loving, God fearing, Bible believing, Inter-denominational church whose leaders preach straight from the Word of God. Our sole purpose is to see the lost saved.
Many churches have vague mission statements. Good Samaritan’s is pretty clear – and pretty accurate.
Having a clear mission statement can be valuable – achieving it can be priceless.
Good Samaritan achieves it’s goals in part by anchoring itself in the lives of the Tyler County and Hardin County Christian communities:
  • Good Samaritan Fellowship in Fred hosts community youth talent shows. A typical event might feature a twelve year old girl comedian, a five year old boy poet, several singers, and a teenage boy whose self written songs could be on KLBT or KYKR.
  • Good Samaritan Fellowship Fred organizes father and son fishing and camping trips. Let’s face it, a family that camps together typically has strong bonds that help them get through the rocky periods that come with the teen and young adult years. On a Good Samaritan father and son camping trip you see a window into what it is to be a dad in Southeast Texas today. You see grandparents and their son-in-laws with their boys. There are divorced parents trying to reconnect with their children – including their daughters. Good Samaritan Fellowship is an inclusive place. If you want to bring your daughter to a father and son camp out, no problem. Often a fishing trip is what we miss church for, so combining fishing and fellowship is a nice turn about.GSF Hornet
  • Good Samaritan Fellowship coordinates youth home school athletics. Many parents want their children to participate in athletics but in a healthy way. The Good Samaritan Fellowship Hornets offer baseball and six man football to children from across Southeast Texas – home schoolers, public school kids, and private school students.
  • Good Samaritan Fellowship Supports Missions – locally and internationally. The Good Samaritan congregation is all about doing good works at home. They also support several missionaries internationally. The church pledges monthly gifts to missionaries which help them in their long-term efforts abroad.
