As a native of Southeast Texas, I grew up hearing about the Sabine Neches Baptist Association’s Annual Men’s retreat. The fish fry, the speakers, the camaraderie! As much as I have heard about it- I have never attended.
This year, I was invited to attend and share the responsibilities of preaching with a couple of other Southeast Texas pastors. One of 
them is a friend of mine named John Denby, who is the Pastor at FBC Spurger. I have heard him preach, and I know his heart. He will do an excellent job! The other speaker is Jared Hollier from Peachtree Baptist Church in Jasper. I don’t know Jared, but Mallory has worked with him through the SNBA, and some of our friends are members at his church- so I’m expecting great things.
Of course, Cornerstone’s own Ernie Overstreet will be leading worship! On top of that, Robert Burkhart will be there to perform his comedy, music, etc!
I have been asked to preach about the life of Daniel. Though that is a lot to cover in a short amount of time, our main goal will be to discuss how God used Daniel’s commitment to Him to do amazing things! We will ask ourselves if we too are prepared to make such a commitment to God.
Bro. John and Bro. Jared will be taking us through the lives of Jesus and Stephen as we try to learn about what it means to be men fully committed to God and His purposes.
At the end of the day, we fully expect God to show up and do a work in and through the men that gather together. This is an excellent opportunity for us to grow closer in fellowship with each other and the Lord. It is my prayer that you would consider going to this special event! It starts Friday afternoon/evening, and will be over after lunch on Saturday. So please pray and consider joining us for this special weekend!
