Travels Through Texas – Art Camp

Cutbacks to public school fine arts programs have left Southeast Texas parents scrambling to fill the void.texas art license

Fortunately, our Southeast Texas museums and private art studios and schools have stepped up to provide Southeast Texas kids with some great opportunities for both fine art instruction and fine art appreciation.

One great summer program is “Art Smart” which is presented for Southeast Texas children each summer by the Texas Artists Museum in Port Arthur.

Each year has a fun theme that ties together all of the art projects done by the participating Southeast Texas children. This year’s theme is “Travels Through Texas” which will introduce the children to Texas’ various geographies, cultures, and artistic styles.

Participating Southeast Texas students will have the opportunity to create some truly unique art projects that will not only teach them about art and about our home state of Texas but that will look great on the walls of your home.

One other great feature of this Southeast Texas summer camp is the value. Each week of classes is only $40. If you are looking to get your child interested in art, to learn more about Texas, or to put them in a safe summer camp where they will learn something new – and create some unique art to remember the experience for decades to come contact the Texas Artists Museum in Port Arthur to register.

The following schedule details what each week of  “Travels Through Texas” will have as its focus. texas art outline

July 15-19; “Central Texas Wonders,” students will create 3D artwork to replicate Central Texas

Through out the weeks the children will learn about the cultures, foods and peoples of Texas.

Cost is $40 per week per student.
