On today’s, Southeast Texas Road Trip Guide, we look at Seaworld San Antonio.
They have been a “go to” road trip destination for Southeast Texas families for generations.
Seaworld has grown and today offers two San Antonio family parks – Seaworld and Aquatica, their Texas water park.
SETX Church Guide recommends combining your trip to Seaworld with a stay at one of our favorite San Antonio family friendly hotels, the Omni San Antonio Colonnade.
The Omni San Antonio Colonnade offers wonderful family suites with different themes – including Seaworld themed suites.

SETX Church Guide offers some Southeast Texas family road trip tips to make your trip to Seaworld San Antonio a smashing success:
- If you have kids, rent a stroller. Seaworld San Antonio is BIG. It also has hills – something we’re not used to in Southeast Texas! It is even BIGGER if you try to do Seaworld and Aquatica on the same day. Even with older kids – 5, 6, 7, we believe you’ll find a stroller a real benefit. You can also hang your backpacks, purses, and camera bags from the stroller. We took a 7 year old and the stroller was a real life saver- our ten year old even spent some time in it.
- Consider a meal band. Seaworld has SEVERAL restaurants – and your meal band will cover all of them for a full day. We’re VERY budget conscious at SETX Church Guide, but we’ve found these to be a wonderful value, worth the price. The restaurants all serve different food, so get familiar with them so everyone gets something “just right” for them.
- Go early or late. Summer in Texas is hot, particularly if you’re not used to walking up and down hills all day. Go early or late, or schedule the cool Aquatica water rides for the hot part of the day.
Seaworld is a great Southeast Texas family road trip destination – enjoy!
We are very comfortable recommending the Omni Hotel Colonnade for your trip.
Their family suites are outstanding – and so is their staff.
On our last visit our kids were pampered with milk and cookies in the evening, a selection of age appropriate books, and their choice of XBox, Playstation, or Wii (all were set up and ready to go). They even customize the game choices to your kids interests.
Even better – with comfortable beds for everyone, you won’t have to sleep next to your child!
Seaworld and the Omni Hotel San Antonio Colonnade combine for an outstanding Southeast Texas Road Trip.
See you there!
