Southeast Texas Orphan Run Dec. 7 – Perfect Holiday Activity for Southeast Texas Christians

During the holidays, we all look for ways to ensure our focus remains on the Lord rather than all of the worldly hubub of the season.

It can be a challenge, even for the most grounded Southeast Texas Christians.

This is also the time of year that some of us promise ourselves we’ll figure out how to not put on five pounds over the holidays.

Running would be a great way to help keep fit over the holidays and there is a 5K Run supporting three orphanages in India on Saturday December 7th. Cant’ run 5k? Walk it. Can’t walk 5k? Rascal it. Can’t rascal 5k? Come out and support the runners- you’ll have fun and they will appreciate your encouragement.

Orphans with 2012 Christmas Gifts

Orphans with 2012 Christmas Gifts

These orphanages are rescuing children who are living in some of the most brutal poverty remaining in our world today. They are learning English, receiving Christian testimony, and getting a wonderful education.

If you and your family, or your Southeast Texas church, are looking for a Southeast Texas holiday charity to support this year, consider signing up to run as a team for the 2013 SWI Orphan Run:

  • Helping orphans feels good.
  • Exercise during the hectic Southeast Texas holiday season feels good.
  • Giving children the opportunity to know Christ feels good.

The run will be held in beautiful Martin Dies State Park (Dam B).

Orphan Run SETX - Soul Winner Start

This is a wonderful oppotunity for Southeast Texas Christian families and Southeast Texas churches to come together and support some of those who need it most this holiday season.
