Are you coping with a loved one’s Alzheimer’s? It can be absolutely overwhelming. Southeast Texas churches are working to provide much needed support.
Port Neches United Methodist Church has responded with an Alzheimer’s Support Group for Mid County.
The group meets once a month in the First United Methodist Church Port Neches Parlor.
If you have never been to an Alzheimer’s Support Group, a few things you can expect are:
- Advice on additional resources you may not have known were available to you and your loved one.
- A safe environment to open up with your frustrations, concerns, and fears
- A network of other Mid County residents who are in exactly the same situation you are.
If you are not in Mid County, chances are there is a Southeast Texas church with a support group near you. If you are having trouble finding one, post to our Facebook page “I’m looking for an Alzheimer’s support group in my city ________”.
You can also call the Beaumont Alzheimer’s Association: (409) 833-1613
The January First United Methodist Church Port Neches Alzheimer’s support group meeting will be on the 27th at 6pm.
Don’t try to do this alone. Support is right around the corner.
