North Orange Baptist and First Baptist Orange donate shoes in Uganda

In missions work, sometimes the results unfold over time and are hard to quantify.

Other times, the effect is immediate. North Orange Baptist Church and First Baptist Orange recently participated in a project where the results were seen instantly.

They joined with other Texas churches and CERI (Children’s Emergency Relief International) to donate 1800 pairs of shoes and socks to Ugandan children in need.

Not only did this caring group of Orange TX Christians provide shoes and socks, they also washed the children’s feet and dressed their wounds.

John 13:14–17. 14 “If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet.” 15 “For I  foot washing 1have given you an example, that you should do as I have done to you.” 16 “Most assuredly, I say to you, a servant is not greater than his master; nor is he who is sent greater than he who sent him.” 17 “If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them.”

Wow! Talk about bringing the Bible to life, two thousand years later. We should be proud of these Orange Christians for plugging into such a meaningful ministry, and for following such a Biblical example, to the letter.

Another active missions group in Uganda is Parental Care Ministries who was teamedwith Children’s Emergency Relief International for this project. The original goal of assisting 1500 Ugandan children with shoes and socks was exceeded thanks in parts to the generosity of the missions team of North Orange Baptist Church and First Baptist Orange and the support of their respective congregations.

It is amazing how much Southeast Texas Christians accomplish in the missions field both internationally and right here at home.
