First United Methodist Church Orange will be hosting their annual Orange Back to School event on August 17.
The theme for 2013 is “Christians Coming Together to Bless the Children of Orange TX”.
This year the event will be held in partnership with other Orange churches and with help from Orange Christians across the community.

What: Back to School Orange
When: August 17, 2013 from 10am-2pm
Where: Orange Lions Park (rain location WOS Middle School)
All of the participating Orange churches will be contributing money towards the purchase of school kits. These are pre-made kits with 30 items (items depend on the age of the kid).
There will be non-profit groups there sharing how they can lend support to the Orange community.
This Orange Back to School event will include free children’s haircuts, free food, and entertainment.
This will be a great day for Orange TX churches, Orange TX Christians, and the entire community to join together and send our Orange children back to school with a fun event that provides the tools they will need for a successful school year.
First United Methodist Church Orange will host a tent at the event to give away socks and underwear like they have done in the past. First United Methodist Orange is planning to purchase socks and underwear in BULK this year to get the best deal. All money collected from the First United Methodist Orange congregation for Last Blast will be used to purchase bulk items.
The church is accepting monetary donations from First United Methodist Orange TX church members. Please consider sponsoring one or two children (or whatever God leads you to). All checks can be written to FUMC with the memo line of Back to School.
First United Methodist Orange will also be looking for volunteers for the Aug 17 Back to School event. Short shifts are planned so no one is out in the August heat for 4 hours!!
First United Methodist Orange will have a nursery for volunteer’s children available and volunteers can park at First United Methodist Orange and shuttle over to the park. Please go on to the website to sign-up for the volunteer positions www.backtoschoolorange.com or see Ginger Williams and let her know that you would like to help pass out socks and underwear.
There will also be volunteer forms in the First United Methodist Church Orange TX Administration office and in the Welcome Center for anyone that would rather fill it out by hand.
