First United Methodist Church Orange – MOPS Program

Southeast Texas Women’s Ministry

The MOPS Program at First United Medhodist Church Orange TX

Mothers of preschoolers, particularly first time mothers of preschoolers, can benefit from encouragement and support.

First United Methodist Church Orange TX provides that support through their MOPS Program – “Mothers of Preschoolers”.

What is MOPS?
MOPS is an international non-profit group whose goal is to deliver support, resources, tools, and the Word of God to mothers with children whose ages are birth through kindergarten.women's ministry Southeast Texas, women's ministry Orange Tx, women's ministry Orange County TX

First United Methodist Church Orange charters the Orange TX MOPS Group. Members come from all denominations, ages, and walks of life, but share one desire-to be great moms

What does the First Methodist Orange MOPS group do?
At each of the First United Methodist Church Orange MOPS meetings, moms share experiences, learn from one another, support each other, and laugh together.

A typical meeting includes a devotional, fun activities, a creative project, a speaker or video on special topics related to motherhood, and discussion groups. The Orange TX MOPS group also has MOM’s Night Outs, play dates, family events, and community service activities.

When does the First Methodist Orange MOPS group meet?

MOPS meetings are held on the 4th Thursday in August and the 3rd Thursdays September through May from 9:30 am – 12:00 pm in the First Methodist Orange Praise Center, but as mentioned before, Orange MOPS meets continually throughout the month through various activities in the Orange community.
How many moms attend?

Currently 16 moms are registered for this year with 12 already registered and committed to return next school year. About eleven of those moms are non First Methodist Orange church members! This is a great outreach program for the church and community.

What is a MOPPET?

The Orange MOPS group refers to the children of MOPS as MOPPETs.

An average of ten loving and dedicated volunteers have devoted themselves to providing a welcoming, exciting, and educational environment for the children. Moms often comment about how their children love coming to MOPS, because the moms see love for their children in the faces of these volunteers.
