I’ve made an observation about myself this week……..I can only accomplish one major thing each day.
This disappoints me. 
With so many things on my list of things to do, I really wish I could knock out a few things each day, but this is not the way I function.
Oh, now don’t get me wrong……..I can throw a load of clothes in the wash, do several other chores, get supper ready and boss around the kids – all at the same time. But when it comes to bigger projects or jobs around here – I’m a “one a day” kind of girl.
For instance, yesterday was pay day, which meant it was also “pay bills” day. I always start that job in the morning (once the money posts online) and it usually takes me about an hour to pay everything online, balance the check book, and determine what kind of cash we need for the week.
Yesterday I also had a few other bookkeeping type items on my to-do list, plus a few calls to make to the bank and some other decisions to think about in the money department, so I basically spent my entire afternoon working on money things.
The day before, my entire afternoon was spent making out the weekly menu and grocery list and matching all the coupons that I needed for the trip to the grocery store. (Which, by the way, I saved about $25 with all of those coupons, thank you very much!) A few other chores got done that day, but it was mostly centered around grocery prep.
So you see……each day I accomplish one thing, that may take hours to work on, but it bugs me!
I have come to the conclusion that I’m a slow mover! Or I take too many breaks to check Facebook. Or I do to many other little things that drag my bigger project out, way too long.

Does it take you ALL DAY to do one major thing?
My friend Cindy thinks I’m being too hard on myself – that I should look at it more positively and say “Yay! I accomplished something today!” Perhaps she’s right. I have been told, before, that I’m too hard on myself. I guess that could be true.
However, I don’t know what else to be. I measure my day by what I accomplish, so when it’s a slow day – project wise – it feels like I haven’t done much.
Oh well, only one way to fix that……work faster, smarter, and harder!
Sure! Right after I finish my coffee and read a few more things on the computer:)
